Sony FX6 Rental Guide: What to Hire With the Camera
The Sony FX6 is a strong production camera, but the body is only one part of a working package. The right support depends on whether you are filming a music video, event, interview, branded film or documentary-style production.
Start with lenses
For fast-moving work, a 24–70mm zoom is a useful base. A 70–200mm can add reach for events, performances and compressed portraits, while fast primes are useful when you want a specific look or need more light.
Plan power and media for the real shooting day
Estimate how long the camera will run, whether it will be on a shoulder rig or gimbal and how often media can be offloaded. Longer days normally need more batteries, chargers and media than the minimum package.
Choose the right monitoring
- ✓ On-camera monitor for the operator
- ✓ Wireless video for director or client monitoring
- ✓ High-bright monitor for exterior work
- ✓ Reliable power and mounting for every monitor
Match support to the shooting style
A tripod is useful for interviews, long lenses and controlled frames. A shoulder rig helps documentary and event work. A gimbal can be valuable for movement, but it also changes how the camera must be built and balanced.
Do not forget sound and lighting
A cinema camera package is only complete when the production can record usable sound and shape the scene. Wireless microphones, a boom solution and a simple lighting package can make a bigger difference to the final image than adding another camera accessory.
